Where I shop!
Wayne and I love good food!
All kinds of good food...
And we are very blessed
with the ideal place to shop for just about anything
we get our tastes buds set to!

Located in Fairfield, Ohio
right north of Cincinnati off the 275 beltway
it is worth a trip and visit!
In 1971 it was just a mere fruit and veggie stand in nearby Hamilton.
Since we've been going for the past 18+ years
it has grown numerous times and has gone from a
relatively normal size grocery store to an
enormous campus!
Complete with waterfalls and "elephants"!
Walking in the entrance you will find
a warehouse size building featuring:
the pharmacy (housed in the original shack building on left)...
the sale and regular grocery items...
A humongous olive bar...
The serenading Campbell's Soup man (m'm m'm good)
The deli counter, complete with real truck...
The Big Cheese!...
The "Award Winning" restrooms...
Housed in this section is also the beer, wine and coffee isles!
Moving to the next "building" we come to the...
Bakery!
and
The meat department (Complete with an Amish buggy!)
oh and we can not forget...
Elvis, who is quite alive every
10 minutes in the candy section!
Moving around the next corner we come to ...
Produce!
And if you can't find what you need in this produce section...
Moving to the next "building" you can check out the
International Fruits and Veggies!
Wayne and I love fresh fish!
(although not this fresh)
Or this fresh!...
Ahhhh... Just right!
In this "building" you will also find the
"international market" part of the store!
They have everything from Asian, Italian, Mexican,
Sweden, Britain, Indian...
and just about anything in between!
They even have a huge pet supply section!
(It's where we buy our dog food and bird seed!)
Out in the parking lot is the old King's Island monorail!
Our kids have been waiting for years (yes years)
for this to be assembled and running....
...we're still waiting!
This is definitely worth the visit if you ever pass this way!
Wayne and I have been know to spend our
"date nights" at the jungle!

Thrift Store Find =
Last Friday
I had one of those "becoming rare" opportunities
to run by the local thrift store.
I was thrilled to find a fantastic bargain!
In fact, I was so excited to find
this bargain, that I neglected to take the often forgotten
"before photo!"
Instead I arrived home and immediately
scrubbed my "bargain" in anticipation
of a "new family member"!
My bargain consisted of:
one 10 gallon aquarium
one lid
2 wheels
1 food dish
1 water bottle with holder
1 wooden barrel
and
a plastic exercise ball
all for the
low price of
$12.00!
It was one of those purchases that I made
knowing full well, if Wayne (who was out of town)
was not on board, I would have to donate it right back again.
Here I am calling Wayne,
"Hey Hon, I just bought something from the thrift store
that now requires a purchase of something alive to go in it!"
Thankfully Wayne was on board and
the kids (and I) were thrilled to get a new pet!
So
off to the pet store to pick our newest family member!
And we came home with.....
nothing!
Really.... the kids could not agree on
a hamster.
Although, surprisingly, we were able to narrow it down to 2!
We decided to let Wayne cast the deciding vote!
I'm happy to announce we finally decided on a sweet
Golden-Teddy mix
that we named Cubbie!
He has been a wonderful addition!
No biting, No nipping, No jumping out of our hands!
Now hopefully,
we can keep this sweet fellow alive and well
for his predicted year to two life span!

Something free!
Just a quick look at a dresser I picked up
in the garbage a year or so ago!
I painted it black. It needs to be touched up in
a place or two from our own wear and tear,
but has served us well by holding the kids homework supplies!
The lamp I found for a few dollar at a garage sale!
Much of my furniture has been bought at local
thrift stores or church sales! (I love a good church sale.)
I've decided from time to time I would show you some of these
"low investment" pieces!

Much Celebrating!
Life has been very busy!
But I'm excited to say...
this
has finally turned into ...
...these!
Yes, my pillows for the family room are done!
The bright cheery fabric is a huge change from
the former browns!
I have two fitted slip covers for my couch...
the yellow one that came with the couch
&
a dark khaki slip cover that I picked up
about a year ago at Big Lots for $30!
(the khaki pillows on the couch are from that set)
I just love the change in this room!
I am hoping to create a new piece of art for above the fireplace.
I can imagine a large charcoal sketch framed drawing.
I'll have to see what I can come up with!

I am also happy to share another exciting celebration
happening this week!
Tomorrow, May 24th, Wayne and I will be
celebrating our 18th wedding Anniversary!
Actually, Wayne leaves for a week long conference
tomorrow so we've been celebrating all weekend!
Wayne and I eating at McDonald's the day before our wedding!
Wow, we look very young!
I was very certain of many things that day...
1. I had found the "love of my life", God's blessing!
2. My Grandfather (a minister) would perform the ceremony
outside in his beautiful back yard!
(Despite the fact that it was cold and all my dear guests
had to wrap themselves in Mom Mom and Pop Pop's
extra coats and blankets!)
3. My Dad would walk me down the isle...
4. I would be surrounded by loving friends and family!

What I didn't know...
was my precious Pop Pop would tear up during the ceremony!
Or that he had a surprise waiting to take us from
his home to the bank in town where we held the
reception....

I can tell you this today...
I have been more than blessed!
I married my best friend!
