Guest Blogger- Duck Tape Creations

Today I am excited to introduce
 a fantastic guest blogger!
My beautiful daughter Madison!

Remember when my mom posted her blog of my room?
She asked what do you guys do with duct tape.
Well this is what I did.

Today my friend Dina and I were playing with my
duck tape and this is what we came  up with.

 Duck Tape Roses!!!!
Here are the instructions to create them.

First: you cut a square of duct tape.
Next: you take a corner and fold it up to create a L
shape.
Then you take a side and fold it over to make a pyramid
shape with a little rectangle at the bottom. Repeat steps with about
20 squares to make a full flower ( you can have more).
Finally you start wrapping it around a tooth pick or pipe cleaner
to have a stem. The first one you wrap should be tightly wound
to create the appearance of a bud. the other squares should act as petal.
 The finished product!

Me (left) and Dina (right) working on our roses.
 We also made wallets!
Sorry I have no step by step by step direction for you.
Some of the flowers we worked on.

I think these make the perfect gift for valentines day.

Thanks for reading my post!

I am posting this to
over at Between Naps On the Porch.

Sharing the JOY

 Yesterday my hubby- Wayne,
 my daughter- Madison
and her friend -Savannah
helped me make Christmas Cookies!
We made some:
Sugar Cookies
Buck Eyes
&
No Bakes!
I divided them out onto paper plates...
Slipped the plates into gallon sized baggies
(I cut the the zipper tops off)
And tied them off with a colorful Christmas ribbon!
Wayne helped me tie on the JOY
ornaments I made!
Then we had the fun of delivering them
to all our new neighbors!

In keeping with sharing the joy...

I wanted to introduce you to a new blogger!

Dinner & A Shout Out

Yesterday, I took some ground beef out of the
freezer to thaw before I left for work.
I also started to rack my brain... what should I make?
I don't know if you do this in your house,
but I tend to get stuck in dinner ruts.
Ground beef often equals=
Meatballs
Meatloaf
Bean Dish
Chuck wagon Casserole
etc....
I knew I wanted something different...
Exploring blog land I found a recipe that
both used ground beef and surprisingly enough
items I already had at the house!

Cheeseburger Cups!
They were excellent and easy to make!
(we decided next time we make them
we would remove them a few minutes earlier)
I found this great recipe over at Decor and the Dog!
To go right to the recipe click here.

I found this to be a great blog, full of
creative projects, great recipes, humorous dog posts
and before and afters!
Most recently she gives a how-to on adding bead board to her island!
What a beautiful kitchen she has!
Worth the hop over to her blog!

Thank you Wendy, at Relatively Unique,
for this weekend reading tip!
If you have never visited Wendy's site,
she is another blogger worth checking out!

Have a great day!

Following in My Footsteps

I'm so excited
Zac (my soon to be 16 year old)
got a job for the summer!

No, not in Paris...
but at our local amusement park
If you are old enough to remember
the Brady Bunch, they filmed
their amusement park show at Kings Island
 back in 1973!
(so I date myself)

My first job was also at Kings Island!
I worked a total of 3 summers
as a rides operator.

Funny enough,
Zac will also be working rides.
He has already chosen his crew
and will be working on

The Crypt.
This ride was formerly known as
Tomb Raider, but the name was
changed a few years ago when the park
was sold from Paramount
back to Cedar Fair.
His reasoning for picking this ride...
it's inside
(air conditioning and
 staying dry in rain!)
Smart Boy!

As a side note (and because I've gone up the
Kings Island Eiffel Tower countless times)
this is a 1/3 sized replica of the
real Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.
And for me, that's high enough!

All photos are from the Internet!

A Huge Thank You

One of the best treasures about blogging has been
YOU!
I have enjoyed getting the opportunity to meet
and get to know so many wonderful and talented people!
Each one of you are richly unique and lovely!
For the past year, my blog friends
names have been spoken around my house
on an almost daily basis!
I have been blessed to lift so many up in prayer
and likewise have been blessed by many of your prayers.

I love following
 the lives of families,
the births of babies,
the pursuit of dreams,
the yummy recipes,
the creative projects,
and on
and on!

Each of you are a blessing to me!

One such blogger is my friend Christine
over at Vista Women.
Christine is such an example of God's
hands and feet here on earth.
She is always looking for creative ways to lift up others.
Her positive and sweet ways spill over
to her family, friends, work associates
and the lives of all the high schoolers she
touches daily at work.
Right before Christmas I received a surprise
package in the mail.
It was from Christine!
I opened it and to my delight she had
made me a wonderful new apron!
I love aprons!
She creatively made this from a tea towel!
It even has a handy pocket sewn in around the top!
It not only matches my kitchen, but also Mom's!
(in photo above!)
Close up of the cupcake decal, isn't it adorable!

Thank you Christine for this gift!
I have been blessed!

Thank you to each of you for your gift of friendship!
Stay warm and have a great day!

Art Work Friday & Tea!

Happy Friday!

Welcome to Art Work Friday!
This will be my last official "weekly" Art Work Friday.
I am hoping to post my Art Work Friday meme once a month and
will be finalizing the particulars soon.

I want to thank each person who has so wonderfully posted
fantastic art work over the past several months.
I have met some of the most creative people.
Including...
Jane's son at Mamie Jane's
Hannah at Farmingon faith
Michelle at My Cozy Cottage
Wanda Lee at The Plumed Pen

Each one of your postings has deeply inspired me!

Thank you to each of you who have visited us each Friday.
Your comments encourage me more than you would know!

Yesterday, I arrived home from work to find
a special package in the mail addressed to me!
I was so excited to open and find this wonderful gift
from my dear blogfriend Christine.

Christine has a wonderful blog site called
She is a beautiful, wise, and creative friend!
Her site is full of family outings, bathroom redos,
creative tidbits, and love!
She even has gotten her daughter at Oh My Soul Rejoice
 and believe or not
her husband blogging at Is There Anyone Out There?!

When I opened this surprise gift and saw the tea,
I knew that it would be the perfect accompaniment
to my afternoon of art!

It was such a beautiful day that I took my supplies outside!

My project today is a pencil drawing for my dear blogfriend
Jeanette at Starting Over.
Jeanette, if you are seeing this... I wanted to do
a drawing of Keelie in her memory.
I hope that it will bring you treasured memories.
It will be in the mail soon.
For those of you that have not yet met Jeanette
she lost her puppy a few weeks ago in a tragic accident.

I'm not quite finished yet, but wanted to post
what I've completed so far!

Oh, by the way...
I'm almost at my 100 post anniversary.
That only means one thing...
Give-a-way!

Stay tuned....
