Wow, today I dug back in the "art work vault"
and came up with a self portrait I created
back in college.
Seeing that I graduated from college in 1991
and not the 70's, I want to explain that the photo
I drew from was one that was taken of me
dressed up for an "Airband" performance
of the Indigo Girls song "Closer to Fine".
I want to personally thank each person visiting
and/ or posting with me today!
I am looking forward to seeing all your wonderful
nice job, love the big glasses and the band...really captured the 70's perfectly.
I could have sworn you were a flower child! Very nice drawing... I really like the highlights on the glasses. They create a feeling of depth.
I'm glad you gave us an explanation because my first thought was that you are way too young to have been a flower child!
I'm sure it's fun to go back and see the work that you created years ago. Have you found that your style has changed during the years?
Have a great weekend.
Well, as someone from the generation depicted, I think you captured the essence of the 70s beautifully. I believe pastels were the perfect medium and the casual strokes evoke a feeling that we encompassed in that era. A period when we thought we could easily change the world for the better just by spreading love for our fellow man.
Very nice Dee Dee, I believe art should evoke feelings in those viewing and this piece did just that for me.
Well, as one who did graduate in the 70's you looked terribly normal to me! Fun to look back! Have a great day.
I knew the minute I saw your portrait, that it was you. Even before I read your story.
Cool Man! Groovy!
How fun to see that drawing again! Those were the days. Where have the years gone?
Much love, Mom
That is too cute! I am enjoying visiting your Art Work Friday every week. Groovy, chick. LOL

Hi Dee Dee,
Me again! I'm a late addition to the party today. I guess better late then never :-)
I was going to say that you look like people I went to college with! Fun portrait.
