Last year we missed it...
One day they were there...
Filling the tree...
Over flowing....
And the next
GONE.... Just Gone!
But this year, we kept watch.
We did not want to miss it a second time around.
We had been told that one tree grew sweet white cherries....
and to our pleasant surprise...
the other tree grew sour red ones!
With some patience ...
some internet investigation...
they were deemed ripe!
Pick one..
Eat two...
Pick one...
Eat Three.
And in the end enough were picked to fill several small buckets
which were shared with our party guests,
family, co-workers, and next door neighbor.
And our wonderful neighbor,
returned some of them
in the form of this delicious cobbler!
And from our own backyard!
How cool is that!

So jealous. They look luscious. I love cherries. I never had them fresh picked though. YUMMY ;-)
DeeDee: That is marvelous. The cobbler looks yummy. When my sister and I were on our way to elementary school (just yesterday!! haha) we HAD to pass by the neighbor's cherry orchard. Needless to say sometimes we had tummy aches when we got there and always stains on some part of our clothing..Good old days..Happy Friday..Judy
Very cool...how wonderful that you got them before the birds did. Can I come over? With a large bucket??? :)
