The Cottage Part Two

The Cottage- Part 2
The Whitening

I am linking to Metamorphosis Monday
A special thank you to our host Susan.

We have been busy getting the cottage
ready for my in laws to move in!

To take a complete before tour

The cottage was mechanically
in wonderful shape, however the
combination of the knotty pine, in the original
part of the home, and the "den paneling",
in the bedroom, made for a great cabin effect,
but created a dark space to live in full time.
This tool quickly became our best friend,
that and 12+ gallons of Kilz!

Wouldn't you know it, but with every
other room in the place going light,
the bathroom went brown!

Next week, I hope to wrap up the
cottage redo with
the final tour of the kitchen
and photos of all the
fun details we changed and added!
Have a great week!

Wow! What an undertaking, 12 gallons of Kilz, then of course there was regular paint! I have used a spryer before, and found it such a hassle to clean, but what a dream for this huge job! The sneak peak of the kitchen is fabulous! Visiting from BNOTP, nice to meet you, I am going to follow you so I don't miss the big reveal!

That is a lot of hard work. These before, during and after pictures take my breath away. The cabin has transformed into a charming cottage.
You and Wayne will be rewarded!

Gosh, what a huge job you all took on! It looks so much better. I know they appreciate all the hard work.
Hope you'll come see the picture wall I helped DD2 create for her home.

What a beautiful transformation. Shows what paint, elbow grease and a lot of love can do.

Dee Dee! Your in-laws are going to LOVE it! Gee, I love those ceilings. And I can't wait to see your next post on the completed Kitchen! Plus, looking forward to all the other details that you said you added. I think my favorite room is the bedroom: you made it look so crisp and clean and 'cottage-y' feeling with that paint color. It looks like a blue-ish grey. Whatever color it is, you guys did a fabulous job in there. AND everywhere!
Best,
Gloria

Wow! What an amazing transformation. It looks so much larger and clean, fresh and pretty! I was surprised that the squares in the ceiling stayed that way even with the light paint. I love that!
