Mudroom Revisited

Our mudroom here in the Provision
is located between the front and side door entries.

This room works hard....

We built in two closets and in between...

is the filing cabinet!

We recycled and painted old kitchen cabinets to house
cleaning supplies, CD's, dog towels...etc!

Corbels, trim and some blingy glass and
marble tile add so much to this wall!

This room also houses the washer and dryer!

I love this hidden feature!
The sink works well for soaking stains
or filling the dogs water bowl!

However, always the dreamer,  I thought...
this wall could use alittle something!

I love batten board and we used it
So why not here!

Wayne and I spent a few hours
and added some to our wall!

Some board and paint....

and we have ourselves a "new" wall!

I could use your advise!

We are in the process of deciding what type of
hooks to add to the top bar.

Pegs?
Which could be painted white and blend in...

Double Hooks?
Which match the knobs on the cabinets....

Antique and rustic?
Which I just think are really cool!

Thanks for you thoughts!

Hi DeeDee: Your laundry room looks so great. Wonderful addition with the battens. I voted up top for the ones that match your knobs. In my eye that will make it look so finished. I was your virgin voter!! HeHe..Happy Monday..Judy

Double Hooks look more elegant, like your room.

The board and batten looks amazing! I just cast my vote for the double hooks. I think it will tie everything in really nicely. I can't tell you how very jealous I am of that spectacular room!

I love the antique hooks, but I think the double hooks will look perfect in your house! I used the double hooks on the board and batten in Harry's bathroom and love how it turned out...

Love the board and batten in your room, it is a beautiful room! One would never know it was a mud room! My vote would be for the double hooks, but you have great taste and know which ever you choose will look awesome!

Your laundry room is prettier than most kitchens! I just voted for the nickel hooks. I like the double hook and the shape of those.

The wall looks great, good idea!

Dee Dee my friend you did it again!!! I love your laundry room...it's so spacious. And the hidden W & D...I'ver never seen that before! I think my vote is for the double hooks...I love the look if them plus you can hang more stuff on the doubles as opposed to the peg. Can't waitto see what you select!

You have the most incredible mud room!
You and Wayne are such a great team.
Looks like I'm the odd one who likes the wooden pegs.

Now I need to go and wipe the drool off my computer screen.

HI Dee Dee, I love the board and batten treatment, so pretty.

I like the double hooks that match the hardware on the cabinets. But I'm a sucker for anything shiny.

Dee Dee, you did it again!

My mouth literally dropped open when I saw your new wall. I liked the room before...but WOW...the extra contrast just puts it over the top!!! You guys do fabulous work!

Oh, and my vote is for the double hooks. Hubby seconds it. Sarah says white, and Austin doesn't know. :)

I love all the trimwork and doors in your house. They are my fave.
I like the painted pegs the best, however I know that sometimes that's not functional. Coats fall off of pegs like that :/

Wow what a great room. I love the hidden feature of your washer and dryer. I had no idea that was coming. I say go for the double hooks. We have a lot of the peg hooks and our coats always seem to slide off . With a double hook you have a better chance of them staying put. Good luck!

Dee...I just have to say that I think that this room is so fabulous. I wish my mudroom looked like yours. I have a lot of work to do on mine!

I love how you used older cabinets - how you hid the washer/dyer. Love the wainscoting - it looks great. It must be actually fun to do laundry in here!

I have to wash and run in mine. Great job!!!

Best...your friend,

Linda
