Laundry Room Reveal

We did it!
The laundry room is complete, at last!

Remember this:
I am so happy to say it doesn't look like this anymore!

My "laundry" list included:

Finish Laundry..... Done

Remove Washer and Dryer to Dining Room
Done!

Take off Base Boards
 Done!

Pull up old flooring...
Done!  (Remember this?)

Paint Walls...
Install backer board..
Install Tile...
Done!

Grout tile..
Done!

Add Wall Treatment...
Reinstall Trim...
Done!

We also added a project...
replace our utilitarian laundry sink for
something slightly more dressy.

We found a lower cabinet base at a local
Pease Warehouse Store for $10.
It was the right size,
however not the prettiest of cabinets.
We looked for new doors to replace the
original 4 inch openings and found a whole
cabinet facing that fit perfectly on the this little guy!
We only spent $20 for the new front!
Old facing with small opening.
We removed the old front and glued on the new one!
(see our little helper?)

We ended up having to purchase a larger sink that perfectly
fit in the base cabinet.
After a little sanding...
and 4 coats of paint..
Done!

Reinstall Washer and Dryer...
Done!

Remember this?
A Little paint is all it took...
Caribou looks guilty, even though he was not
the offending party!

We are so happy with our final result!
So the only thing left on my list was...
Do laundry!

We estimated that we spent about $350 for the entire project.
Including:
tile
backer board
grout
adhesive
paint (had left over from other projects)
cabinet
new laundry tub
decorative molding
Caulk
new piping for sink.

Wayne and I supplied the labor!
I am still looking for two small metal
Oscar the Grouch type garbage cans,
one for dog food and one for trash!

I am linking this to Metamorphosis Monday at
and
to Make it Monday at

So, was it worth Wayne's week off?
Now we must both get back to work!

You did a great job! But then I knew you would. Was it hard cutting the tile?

Wow, Dee Dee! That looks wonderful! I love everything...the tall library paneling, your wall color, your tile, your cabinet redo, even your dog's name. It looks fantastic!

Thanks for your notes. The weather got up to 57 that day, but it felt warmer because we were in the sun. It didn't last though because the next day we got hit with a storm and 7" of snow.

Can you get into the cabinet beneath the sink? It dresses that sink up so nicely. De'Dee

Dee Dee,
Your patience paid off. And all in a weeks time.

THE funniest picture I've seen in a long time, is your dog peeking around the door!!!
That cracks me up!

Hello Deedee~ I love that name, it's my sis's nickname. I've just strolled in for my first visit. I really appreciated your sharing the remodel. We've got many remodeling projects going on in two homes. By chance did you post how you did the wall treatment?
I'll be by again.

Sweet wishes,
Sara
