And Christmas Came Late...

With my computer dead over Christmas Break
I did not have a  chance to share any of
my Christmas decorations.

Since this blog is also a personal journal
I wanted to post a few photos
to remember Christmas 2012!

The Fireplace

To make room for the tree
we moved the large farm table to the breakfast room
and in it's place went the small round table.

I left the tree lights on for 3 weeks straight,
notice that half the lights burned out by the end
of the time!

On the white table went my handmade feather tree...

and some vintage ornaments I bought last year!

My vintage Santa found a perch on the book shelf!

And our true JOY of Christmas
was in knowing
that God loves us so much
that sent his son, Jesus
as our Redeemer!

Cookies Wishes

This week we distributed
a wagon full
of cookies and wishes
to our wonderful neighbors.

We
Believe

that this Christmas will be
Merry
 and full of
JOY

That Santa's delightful
HoHoHo
will be heard though out the malls and rooftops!

And most importantly....
that the Peace
of God will wrap around you the
whole season long!

My daughter Madison and I
had so much fun making the wooden ornaments
out of left over wood, printed words
and colorful Christmas ribbon!

Sharing the JOY

 Yesterday my hubby- Wayne,
 my daughter- Madison
and her friend -Savannah
helped me make Christmas Cookies!
We made some:
Sugar Cookies
Buck Eyes
&
No Bakes!
I divided them out onto paper plates...
Slipped the plates into gallon sized baggies
(I cut the the zipper tops off)
And tied them off with a colorful Christmas ribbon!
Wayne helped me tie on the JOY
ornaments I made!
Then we had the fun of delivering them
to all our new neighbors!

In keeping with sharing the joy...

I wanted to introduce you to a new blogger!

A Bowl Full of JOY

I have seen so many wonderful handmade
ornaments on blog land this year!
I decided to make some of my own
using odd and ends I had here at home.
I cut small wooden blocks out of scrap board.
My board was once part of my daughters
picket fence headboard and was already painted white.
I printed off the word JOY
and decoupaged it onto the board.
I then drilled holes in the corners,
some received one hole
(I'm attending a Pretty In Pink themed
Christmas brunch this Saturday.)
and some received two!
Using recycled and scrap ribbon
I tied on bows and hangers!
These I hope to pass out to new neighbors,
friends, family and teachers!
I put them all in a bowl for an easy display.
The feather tree is one I made years ago!
I added some vintage ornaments to the bowl
to finish out my display!
(sneak peek of my dining room!)

May the JOY of the season be with you!

Christmas Decor Galore!

No matter how hard I try to be ahead of the game,
lately it seems like I'm one step behind!
Last week I worked so hard
to complete my office to post on
Metamorphosis Monday...
only to find out that last week was
solely dedicated to Christmas decor!
By the time I finished last weeks post...
I was just too exhausted to photo and post
Christmas!

All this to say....
if you want to see the office

Today, being one step behind again
I am sharing some of
my favorite Christmas Decor!

The Entry
I have a two trees in our home.
This small tree is in our entry.
I raise it up on a round table
and decorate it with faux hydrangeas,
glittered leaves,
lights and tiny brown and green ornaments!
I guess you could refer to this tree as
our formal Christmas Tree!
Most of the year the hydrangeas hang
out in a white pitcher on my breakfast room table!

The Stair Case
This year I wrapped the staircase
with green "pine" garland,
lights and silver bows!
Every few stairs, I tied on an antique ornament!

The Dining Room
The antique hot pink ornament once
belonged to Mom Mom Friend.
This year I will be searching high and low
at local thrift stores for more of this color!
I would just love to incorporate more hot pink
into my Christmas Decorations next year!
I adorned the light fixture with
pine boughs and more heirloom
fragile, antique ornaments!
The feather tree was a simple craft project
I whipped together a few years ago.

The Family Room
I filled my ceramic bowl with red, yellow
and cream ornaments!
Christmas decor in the family room
tends to be more relaxed
and colorful!
Red is the accent color of choice
for this room!

The gingerbread garland was also a
craft project from many, many years ago.
