Mission Trips

This has been a very busy week and I am feeling
very behind in visiting all my friends
in blogland.

This year God has opened some wonderful
 missions opportunities for our family.

Wayne and Zac will be going to Monterrey,  Mexico
this summer to serve in orphanages with a
ministry called Back to Back.

Madison has been selected to serve at
The Happy Church, in Jackson KY.
This is a youth group project that is focused
on building relationships with the youth from the Happy Church.
Our youth kids will be traveling this weekend
to Jackson to learn about the area, youth and local culture.
They will be going back down for a week this summer
to host a VBS and another day to do service projects.
The kids from The Happy Church will also be bused up here
to spend a day out and about here in  Cincinnati!

As it turned out....
I will also be experiencing a mission trip
to the Happy Church.

Instead of the youth, I will be working with
women from my church to host an event
for the women of the Happy Church!
I will go down, along with a dear friend,
to Jackson this weekend.
We will fill a need for the youth trip by doing
the kitchen duty for them.
When we are not knee deep in pancakes
and tacos, we will be working with the
women's leadership at the Happy Church
to better understand the needs of the women in the area.
We will then spend the next two months planning
a Women's Event for this summer!
We would love to be lifted up this weekend in prayer...
first- for safe travels for the youth and leadership...
second- that God would open our eyes to the needs
of these sweet women!

I will be back this Sunday
and hope to catch up with all of you... ASAP!

Isn't this the most beautiful flower?
It was a gift from my neighbor!

How exciting for Wayne and Zac...as you know orphanages are near and dear to my heart. Safe travels to you and Madison this weekend and enjoy a wonderful experience.

P.S. The flower is very beautiful Dee Dee but pales in comparison to your most loving heart!

I admire anyone who volunteers for a Misson Trip.
It sounds like a busy time for each of you. Just think of the stories you all can share around the dinner table (or anywhere!).
Please share with us!

Prayers for a safe and productive time this weekend.

That's wonderful Dee. I wish you all the best in your endeavors. So nice that it's a family affair.

My son has been a big brother for over 2 years, but the boy he was helping has moved pretty far away now, so he sees him less and less now.

Been thinking about doing some volunteer work. But haven't figured out what and who yet.

Best wishes for you and for family...

Linda

I hope all goes well on your trip. It's so nice that all of you are taking time to serve. I often wonder who gets blessed the most...the ones getting help or the ones giving it.

Good for you. And good for your kids, too!!!

I'm sorry that I saw you too late to lift you up in prayer! Hope your weekend went well. Missions and "the heart" for missions is always a wonderful thing. You must be very proud of your kids also! :)
