Lilac Tea

Welcome to Tablescape Thursday!
Thank you to Susan at Between Naps on the Porch
for hosting us each week.

Today I decided to share a tablescape
I created for a ladies' tea
several years ago.
For this tea our church rented a local
reception hall and asked each
hostess to provide china, stemware,
flatware and a center piece.

My Table
Mom so graciously provided the lilac's
from her stunning bush.
I used a family set of china
with an acorn motif.
Since it is trimmed in silver
we carried the silver theme
throughout the entire table.
From using a silver coffee pot for a vase...
...to the silver rimmed stemware...
to the silver water pitcher!
The small gift consisted of a variety of tea bags
wrapped in a matchbook style!
I apologize about the lack of photos...
This was well before my days of blogging,
even before I own anything beyond a 36mm.
Thankfully, Mom had beaten me to the digital age
and took three fabulous photos for me.
For the close up photo's I simply cropped
the larger photo to try and give you
a better idea of the details!
As creative as I tried to be...
blowing them up any larger will further
distort the pixels!

Thank you for joining me today.
Please join me tomorrow for Art work Friday.

Oh DeeDee this is just lovely! Lilacs are Doug's favorite flower. We just can't grow them here and trust me we have tried.

I know you had an incredible time.

Our lilac bush is our most treasured flower. We planted it in memory of Tony's mom. I knew as soon as I read the title of your post, I would love it! Lilac's and Tea what a wonderful combination!
It is so beautiful with the white china and silver...it lets the purple lilac's color stand out! You are really talented at tablescapes!
Thanks for a great post :)
Wendy

P.S. (by chance is your husband a chef, too?)

Your table makes me look forward to all the Lilacs that burst open with their perfume .
Oh, I can't wait!
I think the idea of having a hostess for each table is wonderful. You had a perfect display.
(thanks Mom for sharing the pictures).

Dee Dee, this is beautiful! I love the silver and the lilacs! I can smell their heavenly scent. I'm hoping to plant some white lilacs this year.
You are so talented when it comes to tablescapes. For my graduation party, maybe you can prepare a special tablescape. Do you have any china kelly green and white {OU's colors}.
Thanks for your kind words. I appreciate your prayers and support. I'd really like to keep in touch. Do you mind sending me your email address. Mine is destinationseaborn{at}hotmail{dot}com.
Thanks! Lisa

Hi DeeDee, Lilacs are a sign of spring. I can smell them now. We have a lilac bush in our yard in PA and I just love when it's breezy and the windows are open....I can smell their scent. When I'm outside I just stick my head in and smell them. Thank you for being the great person you are. Love, Jude

Hi DeeDee,
First of all this is a stunning table and your mom's lilacs are amazing. I live in CA and I don't think I have ever seen a lilac up close and personal. I think I may have to go on a lilac hunt. Thanks for sharing.

Do you have ANY idea how much I ♥ lilacs??? Oh Dee Dee, this table just makes me want to press my nose against the computer monitor! Please tell your Mom how much I envy her that lilac bush? Every year, come spring, I kick myself for not planting one. I've been known to stop the car in rural areas & jump the ditch to break off a few wild lilac branches for home. This year, for sure, I'm going to plant my own bush!
Thanks for the reminder.

fondly,
Rett
