Mapping It Out

I like knowing where I'm going....
But to do that....
it's sometimes best to see where I've been.

I've always enjoyed maps, in fact with the on set of GPS
I've found myself at a loss...
often sneaking a road map in the car
just so I can "see" the route I am on from
beginning to middle to end!

In 1974 the city I live in commissioned a map to be drawn
showing streets, zoning and boundaries.

We were so blessed to be left with copies of this treasure!

And a snip and a cut
and a piece of the past...

has become art for the present!

And by dwelling on the past....
I can see just how far we've come!

I'm sharing this project at the following parties:

I love your framed maps! They look great in your room!! Maps are fun to look at (but I'm horrible at reading/following them!)

I am a total map freak. I can't visit a state without getting a map. And when driving through certain parts of central KS or the Ozark Mountains, those GPS can't always be 100% relied upon!

How neat to have those and turn them into art that can be enjoyed. That's cool.

I love maps and just have to find time to do them someday! I would love to make that a theme in my future library.
