A Small Project

With all painting, molding and sewing projects
swirling around my house lately,
I was feeling the need for a small project.
One that I could start and finish
with in a short time, not weeks!

Wayne and I have found this fun candy at our local market.
The candy comes in small containers
with a metal lid and heavy plastic bottom.
I decided they would be perfect for
storing small office supplies.
I grabbed some left over metal paint and
painted several layers onto the lids.
After the metal paint had dried,
I took a off white and applied two more coats.
I was originally going for green, however
it was just too intense for what I wanted!
I printed off numbers from the computer
and modpodged them onto the tops of the lids.
Finished and ready for supplies!

This was an extremely easy project and can be done
with any small metal mint/candy type container!
Instead of numbers you can use initials
or even printed words of the items you want to store.

I am having my 100th post give-a-way.
for more information or to enter click here!

A special thank you to Susan at Between Naps on the Porch,
where I'm linking to Metamorphosis Monday.

A quick up-date on my big project...
the painting is done...
the curtains are made and up...
hallway done (except artwork)...
The next big thing to do is finish the pillows.
I hope to post more before and afters this week.

Nice job - I thought the numbers were painted on at first glance! Dropping by from BNOTP.

That's a very creative recycling project. I love everything with numbers on it so these really caught my eye. They really turned out cute.
Now I need to go and read some of your past posts...I'm so behind on my blogging (but at least I can see now!)

I love how you transformed those candy tins in to usable containers for supplies. The look great. I am going to have to give this modge podge a try some time. Everyone in blog land seems to love it.

All your painting, sewing and physical work will soon pay off!

What a great idea for the candy tins! I can get Tom to eat the candy and then I can copy your project (I like the small projects).

Looking forward to your reveal.

Great thinking - they are the perfect size for buttons and such. The numbers were the perfect finishing touch!

I used to buy little lemon drops in tins like that, only they were all metal. What a clever way to recycle!
