Art Work Friday

Happy Friday!

I want to share with you my "Black Friday" find of the day!
I saved it for Art Work Friday because
well, it does have to do with art in a way!

Sometime between 4am Walmart shopping
10 am brunch at our favorite breakfast spot
and
1pm circus plans...
I was able to fit in a quick thrift store shop!

I saw this box on a bottom shelf and my heart skipped a beat!

I loved it little dove tail ends...
as I started to hunt for a price,
I noticed it was quite heavy so
I opened it...

Now, my heart is really racing...
the box itself is an easel when opened,
 plus an artist pallet.
what's underneath...

Quality and more importantly fresh oil paints...

Artist pencils galore...

What a find!
Of course, now I still must find a price
like most thrift stores
no price = no sale.
I close it back up...
take a deep breath
turn it over...
and find this

Really... $5.00!
This is probably close to $100 dollars worth of supplies.
truly a blessing to both Wayne and me!

I was still holding my breath as I went to the front to pay for it..
I could just picture them telling me it was mismarked but
thankfully I bought it without a hitch!

Now I have the motivation needed
to complete those few projects that have been rolling around in my head.

Thank you for joining me today!

WOW!
I love oil paints...when the "stimulus package", the Bush administration one sent out money to "stimulate the economy", I took our check and "stimulated the economy" at the art supply store...You did find a deal, darlin'!
Good on you!

Your cloches in the previous post are wonderful and I love the feather tree.

This was indeed a terrific find! So happy for you! It's the very same type box my hubby bought for me after I had signed up for oil painting lessons. (Sadly I must admit the box outlasted my painting attempts). S: (
Loved your cloche pictures, too, by the way.

WOW...what a deal! I work in oil and one tube is like $8 now. The pencils alone are worth more then $5.

It couldn't have happen to a more deserving person! So, care on with all of your projects. Friday is coming soon!
PS I love the smell of oil paints.

Oh my gosh! My daughter would be in heaven if I ever found something like this at Goodwill (she's an artist)! Art supplies are so expensive! You scored!

BARGAIN!!! I see some good brands of paint in there too! If you have a handy man around, get him to add some hardware (not sure what it's called) so you can attach the box to a camera tripod. Then you have a plein air easel to use outdoors or inside. I purchased one for $75, no bargain there! and can take a photo of the bottom for you if you are interested.
