Feather Tree

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas...

Come and take a peek...

Come a little closer...

It's getting cold outside, please come in...

See the pretty feather tree, I made it just for you.

I have always admired these as they sit on the store shelves during this time of year,
however... I am very frugal (cheap) and shelling out big bucks for something
I use during one month out of the year is very difficult for me
so...
I made one!

You need:
one Styrofoam cone (the size will determine the size of your tree)
2 to 3 packs of feathers

Using the longer feathers from the pack
I started at the bottom of the cone
and layer by layer I worked my way to the top!
(Someone made a comment about gluing the feathers in,
good news... no glue!  The strong end of the feathers easily
push into the Styrofoam! )

I used white feathers, but imagine it pink or silver...

My dining room is just beginning to look a little bit like Christmas.
Soon there will be boughs and antique bulbs on the chandelier.
and Christmas tablescapes galore..

Candlelight and sparkles...

Thank you for visiting with me today!
I am posting this to Metamorphosis Monday at
Thank you to Susan for hosting us each week!

Oh, it looks so soft and I love the reindeer on top-wonderful touch. I also love those candles lined up on your buffet, I'm having a candle lit Christmas this year.

What a beautiful tree. I have admired them but am way too cheap. Yours turned out so lovely.

I love your tree! Where do you buy the feathers? We finally got the house done today. We don't do as much as we used to since we don't have Christmas here. But, I still like lights and a tree...eggnog and Christmas music...a sleeping pup. Who could ask for more?

Oh My Gosh...the feather tree is so pretty and magical looking. You have a lot of patience to glue each and every feather in place!

Just beautiful.......

Dee Dee,
Great post!
I like how you had us peeking in from the outside. Then brought us in for a closer look.
Told us how to make that gorgeous tree.
And then you ended your post with the knock out picture of your dining room! WOW!
Nicely done!
